Expand the Project Area by Better Utilizing Existing Roadways

   
 
Utilize Adjacent High Capacity Facilities
 
 
  1. The light bluegreen area marks the current extent of the PENNDOT project area for the Woodhaven Road Extension Project.
  2. Note the proximity of existing high capacity roadways to the project area such as:
      • Route 1
      • Street Road
      • Red Lion Road
      • Bustleton Pike
  3. The Route 1 Build Alternative proposes to direct traffic volumes to their destinations to avoid directing that traffic through the current project area. However, results of the Byberry Road Origin and Destination study show that the traffic is local in nature and not regional. Regardless, expanding the project area by considering a better utilization of nearly high capacity roads will alleviate congestion in the project area.
